About Ebba.... "Beautiful 8 year old Ebba desperately needs a family that is willing to take on the challenges of her burns and give her a new life. People who have met her says she is the sweetest thing. Ebba fell into the fire at her home after trying to cook; she fell into the fire when she fainted due to being so hungry. Her mother could not live with what happened to Ebba and took her own life, leaving Ebba an orphan. "

Finley and Rebel have been married for almost nineteen years. They met in their junior year of high school. Finley was born in El Salvador and lived there during the Civil War; losing his mom to the war when he was still just a baby. He came to the United States when he was thirteen. Despite being on his own since he was fifteen, Finley put himself through college with the support of his wife, Rebel, and is now a firefighter and paramedic. Feeling blessed to have been able to escape the war, go to school, and make a better life for himself, Finley always wanted to help others to have a chance at a good life. After having three biological children, the Molinas became foster parents and adopted three beautiful children with special needs. The Molinas have always considered foster care and adoption to be their family ministry; using their family and all of their resources to live out James 1:27, “ Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

In 2011, Rebel became ill and had to be placed on a ventilator; she was not expected to make it. During her time on the ventilator, she asked God if she would live and he showed her seven little baby rubber ducks, Finley and Rebel always joked that they would have seven children, but at that time they only had four. After seeing the ducks, Rebel knew that she would survive, and on Thanksgiving day she came off the ventilator and told Finley what she had seen. By April, they had six children, and since that time, they have been eagerly waiting for God to send them number seven.

International adoption had never been contemplated by the Molinas. It was too costly and overwhelming. Until they saw Ebba; Finley could empathize with her. He knows what it is to be hungry, to be alone and afraid, and as a firefighter he understands the severity of her burns. Rebel wanted Ebba to feel loved, she wanted Ebba to experience the comfort of a mother and the support of a loving family. The Molina children also wanted Ebba to be a part of their family. They believe that God has big plans for Ebba, and they are excited to be a part of it! The Molinas have decided to trust the Lord on this adventure and eagerly await the arrival of their seventh little duck!
