UPDATE:  5-23-15

The Green's are currently in Tanzania getting to know their newest sons!

Hi!

We are Ben and Kim and have been married for 18 years and we have adopted 14 children in the last 14 years ... and now we are being led of the Lord to adopt these two beautiful boys in Tanzania!  Our children have come from Korea, Liberia and the United States - we've adopted both children with and without special needs.  Although we are the parents to 14 children, only 12 live in our home as two were in hospice and passed away before their first birthdays. Their ages range from 1-15 currently- 8 boys, 4 girls.  We believe that ALL children are created by God and are meant to live in the context of a family :) .

A little about our new boys we are working towards bring home through a pilot program:

N. was born with down syndrome and was abandoned.

J was born with albinism.  In this area of Africa (and many others),persons with albinism are killed and their organs are used for black magic.  His birthmom traveled days to place him in the orphanage to literally save his life. What a selfless love.

In September, before we even knew these children existed, I (Kim) had a dream of adopting black and white twins.  It was a dream that stuck with me and so when I learned of these two boys at the same orphanage and only a few months apart, I knew that we needed to really start praying.  We are taking a leap of faith and starting the process to bring them both home this coming year ... and we need your help to do so!   Any amount you are able to give towards their adoption will 100% go towards their adoption costs.  We are happy to verify any information you need/questions you have by simply emailing us at mamakgreen@gmail.com.

2 Cor 5:13-14a (NLT)
"If it seems that we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. Whatever we do, it is because Christ's love controls us"

Our estimates are as such:

$15k program fee Noel
$15k program fee Jackson
$1600 airfare, times 2 people, times two trips=$6400
$1k- USCIS/background fees
+ lodging, food, and 2 one way tickets home for the boys
_____
Approximately $40,000/ about half of that will be due when send in our dossier.

Thank you so much and God bless!!!

Update from Kim 2-12-15

Wow! That "little news piece" has brought many more of you into our lives. Welcome! I thought I should do a quick summary of who we are and what we stand for.

No, we are not Catholic or Mormon (a question we're often asked), but we are followers of Jesus Christ and we love and serve Him with our lives to the best of our ability (we are sinners saved by grace!).

We have adopted from Korea, Liberia, and the USA. They have all been private adoptions. We receive no government funding (often a misconception when people have large families that irks me so I'll be up front about that) and my husband has been employed with the same wonderful company 13 years now. Our children are currently ages 1-15.

We have a passion for life and to see that every life is valued! We have adopted healthy children, those with special needs, and those who had life limiting conditions (our daughter Selah died at 55 days old and our son Josiah died at 10 months old). It's our joy and honor to be a voice for those that have none. Every life has a purpose!!!

In December, we started the process to adopt two unrelated 3 yr olds from Tanzania. Tanzania has a 3 year residency requirement on their books which has made international adoption from there impossible unless you are a missionary there. Until recently. There is a lawyer that has successfully argued that requirement waived in a few cases and one by one, cases are being evaluated according to this clause:

"This residency requirement may be waived in cases where the applicant is a Tanzanian citizen or the High Court of Tanzania determines an adoption by non-Tanzanians to be “in the best interests of the child” (Tanzania Law of the Child, Article 74, Section 2)."

There are a few agencies in the US that have partnered with this particular attorney and a few pioneer families (if you will) are moving forward. It's risky. But to love is to risk! I don't think Tanzania will ever been a country with lots of international adoption, but I do think that God is opening a door for a small population ... those fully abandoned and/or with special needs. We have chosen to try to adopt 2 with special needs. One has down syndrome and one has albinism. In Tanzania, persons with albinism are killed for witchcraft .... I've read up to $75,000 for a whole body. I believe God is on the move and He's taking back a people group deeply loved by Him. We'd love to make these little guys members of our family! Ben and I are hoping to make our first visit to meet them next month sometime!

This verse has been in my email signature line for years and years .... it pretty much sums us up!

"If it seems that we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are
in our right minds, it is for your benefit. Whatever we do, it is because
Christ's love controls us" 2 Cor 5:13-14a (NLT)
